Sometimes the hardest things to say are also the most important. It doesn't matter how much it scares you to do so, it's finally time to be honest.

01. I DON'T LOVE YOU ANYMORE
Unfortunately, you can't keep lying to your partner/friend/family anymore. You just don't feel the same for them anymore.
02. I WOULD KILL YOU
The person who means so much to you has done something completely unforgivable and now it's time to make sure they know where they stand. You would kill them if you ever got the chance.
03. I LOVE YOU, BUT...
A bittersweet love confession. You know you love this person more than anything, but you're not sure you can give them what they need.
04. I DON'T TRUST YOU
No matter how you feel about this person, you really can't trust them anymore.
05. SACRIFICE
You're going to sacrifice yourself, for the person you're talking with or for the good of all humanity. You want them to know the reasons and that there's no stopping you.

You're in trouble and you might not make it through. You need to let at least one person know how you feel before it's too late though.

Just get in. [ He moves over, carefully, trying to ignore how everything sways as he caps the bottle and tosses it aside. ] If you fall, and hurt yourself, that would be worse.

[ a sigh—but not an exasperated one—and he makes his way around, holding on to this and that thing for support. once he gets to the futon he lets himself just fall onto it, so thin that it barely shakes anything other than possibly his brain rattling around in his head, ugh ugh ugh. ]

Augh, fuck.

[ Has he always been that thin? When did that even happen. Can't focus on that now. Instead he pulls the blanket over and adjusts the pillows so his horns won't he a problem.

He's laying on his stomach once he's settled, arms folded underneath his head. ] Goodnight, Dave.

[ he takes a few minutes to wriggle around, getting under the blanket and folding one arm behind his head, and then a little longer to shut his eyes and will the world to stop spinning at light speed around him, before he responds. when he does, he reaches over and touches Tavros' shoulder, a super quick pap before he reaches up to bunch up the blankets in his arms and hold onto that, instead. ]

Night.

[ Despite himself he tenses at the touch. And maybe worse, he's disappointed when it's gone. He's used to it now, having driven off every friendly touch Dave offered since this whole fiasco started.

So he sleeps easily. Mostly. The morning will come and he'll find the pillow soaked in brown tears but that's not new or unexpected. ]

[ Dave doesn't sleep nearly as well, but he's always that way when he sleeps at home. the alcohol doesn't help, because he just gets distracted staring at the ceiling, watching it spin. holding up a hand in front of his face and watching it slide in and out of focus. and when that gets boring, just laying there watching Tavros sleep, listening to him breathe.

he feels kind of like a creep for that but whatever, sleeping people can't judge. the only reason he finally cuts that shit out is because the urge to reach out and shake him awake gets pretty strong and like he said, he just can't trust himself. he can't trust that he won't push it and wind up disappointed again, or that he won't push it and just not stop pushing.

honestly Dave isn't sure if he's really that aggressive when he's drunk but he'd rather not find out.

eventually he does pass out for a few hours, though, only to wake up the moment sunlight falls across the pillow. he doesn't get hangovers often and today's no exception, but he still feels sluggish, bleary and miserable, so aside from an agitated grunt and rolling to bury his face in his arm, he's not making any attempt at getting up. ]

Fffffuck.

[ The dreams aren't exactly pleasant. Tavros doesn't toss and turn, but the thoughts on his mind before falling asleep are now impossible to ignore.

It doesn't matter how long he's been on Earth, day time is sleep time still remains deeply enough ingrained in his head to keep him dozing even when the blinding light right across his face. He squirms a little, buries his face deeper in his arms and shifts his head toward the light.

Of course that lifts his horn and Dave by proxy. ]

[ it's been awhile since he got bapped in the face and hoisted off his pillow by an errant horn. there's some half-awake sputtering as Dave tries to roll away, falling half off the futon in the process but grabbing on to the offending horn to keep from falling all the way off. it's the closest thing to a handle there is, okay. he might not even be awake enough to realize it's his horn he's grabbing just yet. ]

Dude, what the hell!

[ So he goes from dreaming to being literally jerked awake and ends up with his face smacking down harder on his arms. There's a startled flail, he twists away and tries to throw the predator off AND

oh it's dave

... uh. ]

[ ... uh.

well now that he has been thoroughly shaken awake and is fully aware of the situation, he's jut going to. slowly let go of Tav's horn, sliding down to the ground on his knees. sure haven't done that in awhile. ]

My bad.

[ It's so familiar it hurts. Kind of literally, actually, he squints against the light and stifles a yawn, rubbing the base of his horn. ]

It's, okay. [ Even if it is unbearably awkward. ]

You kinda flipped me off the bed with it though.

[ not that he's making a massive attempt at getting back up on it. his head's still kind of pounding. ]

Sorry. I'm not used to, uh, needing to, watch when I move, anymore. [ What time is it?

... Way too early. Back down he goes! ]

Yeah, I noticed.

[ ...smashes his face against the mattress. why does daytime even exist? why is there a sun? fuck. ]

Yeah. [ That's articulate. Really. Do go on, you wordsmith.

He pulls the blankets back up, heaving a sigh. ]

[ hey, he is not required to be any good at saying words before a certain time (that time is around whenever the sun goes down). not even in his narrative bracket text.

and yeah, okay, his knees are getting sore so he's climbing back onto the futon and fighting Tavros for some pillow space, whether that means scooting up close to him or not. ]

[ Even if they reached some kind of drunken truce, Tavros still stiffens when he gets close and shuffles some pillow over with minimal moving. He's two seconds away from a passive-aggressive suggestion that the bed is free and Dave can walk straight now before he stops himself.

It's too early to talk about this and he's not doing it before work. ]

[ well, he's not pushing it any further once he gets more of the pillow, sliding one arm under it and hugging it to his face. that's another habit he still hasn't quite broken, try though he certainly has: having to hold onto something when he sleeps. a pillow works, or a lump of blankets, and he might just have a shitty stuffed dog he sleeps with in the bedroom sometimes that he keeps hidden in the closet.

but he's gotten far too used to the shoving and biting and elbowing to consider Tavros a candidate anymore. ]

[ In his defence your skin is frail and breakable and his teeth are mighty and you should learn to stay away from a trolls mouth when they're not in a good mood. It ends in licking or teeth to the shoulder. But it doesn't take too long for him to go back to sleep.

Sometime around 12 he'll be crawling out and getting ready for the day. But for now, he'll eventually be snuggled close to Dave. ]

[ it's only out of stubbornness that Dave sleeps any later than that—until one thirty, as a matter of fact, and when he does finally drag himself back into the world of the living he looks like he needs a shave and probably a shower but he just heads straight for the kitchen and drinks apple juice straight out of the carton from the fridge.

whatever, he's famous, he can do what he wants. "mornings" aren't his thing any more than they are Tavros'. ]

[ That's so gross. But he's famous and that's his apple juice so whatever, Tavros is eating cereal and watching the latest episode of Fiduspawn Pocket Monsters. Unlike some people showering and basic grooming come first. His mohawk is even still damp and unstyled. ]

[ god, is that fiduspawn, he hasn't had to hear that in ages. he comes meandering out with the apple juice, swigging it and swaggering like a pirate. a really cool pirate in sunglasses. ]

That show's still going?

Oh, yeah. [ Oh. Uhm. ] They're not on even in the same galaxy, anymore.

Oh, damn.

[ man, he really has missed a lot. suddenly he's got a few days off and he's having actual arguments, sleeping more than he has in weeks and fiduspawn is in another fucking galaxy.

not that he ever surreptitiously watches that show or anything. ]

Yeah.

[ Dude you missed it all. ] And, the green-blood and the blue-blood he was travelling with, are, now running their own battle arenas and, breeding centres, respectively. There's a lot of debate on, who the new companions will be, actually.
