Sometimes the hardest things to say are also the most important. It doesn't matter how much it scares you to do so, it's finally time to be honest.

01. I DON'T LOVE YOU ANYMORE
Unfortunately, you can't keep lying to your partner/friend/family anymore. You just don't feel the same for them anymore.
02. I WOULD KILL YOU
The person who means so much to you has done something completely unforgivable and now it's time to make sure they know where they stand. You would kill them if you ever got the chance.
03. I LOVE YOU, BUT...
A bittersweet love confession. You know you love this person more than anything, but you're not sure you can give them what they need.
04. I DON'T TRUST YOU
No matter how you feel about this person, you really can't trust them anymore.
05. SACRIFICE
You're going to sacrifice yourself, for the person you're talking with or for the good of all humanity. You want them to know the reasons and that there's no stopping you.

[ You are the most insecure thing aren't you. But he's just going to shrug and try not to think about what Dave would need to hide because it's not like he's cared all that much when he's left his mess around before.

But he'll finish his cake before shower time happens. ]

[ Dave only gets halfway through it before giving up. too much eating, can't handle. the wine he can finish, though, and he does and then stands, smoothing his shirt down and loitering around and generally trying to be casual. ]

So. Requests on movies? I'm thinking something badass so we can just blow all the awkward and all the warm fuzzy bullshit right out the window so there's nothing but awesome for us to roll around in for the next week.

Since we watched, Fiduspawn earlier, you could pick the movie this time. I don't really have any requests. [ Gonna shower like a boss. ]

Sweet, I got the perfect one.

[ but he doesn't name it, he just dumps his paper plate and crams his hands in his pockets, loping off to the living room as casually as humanly possible. oh yes. he has got this. he has completely got this. ]

[ SHHHHSHHHHHHSHHHHHHH showering time. And soaking in the bath feeling a little better about the whole situation. ]

[ Dave too, once he's successfully put the Fiduspawn discs back where they came from and popped in his go-to Awesome Film: Starsky and Hutch.

what, it's like his Con Air. only it's only ironic awesome, not actually awesome, but whatever. they're doing it, they're making it happen. this is salvageable. he might even be able to pull off the pretending-to-yawn-and-stretching-his-arm-behind-the-date maneuver without getting headbutted, if he's lucky. ]

[ He changes into his pajamas and sets his work clothes aside to clean, toweling off his hair and horns.

But here he is. Scooting into the living room. ]

[ by then Dave's already donned his typical solo sweat pants for sleeping in attire, made popcorn and dragged the remainder of the wine over. the lights are dim and the shitty bromance movie is on and Dave pats the seat on the couch next to him. ]

Saved you a seat.

[ Bad movies are like your aphrodisiac. But Tavros hops onto the couch and pushes the chair off to the side. ]

[ hell yes they are. as soon as Tavros sits he pushes play and settles into the couch, dragging the popcorn bowl up between them. he probably won't eat much of it, but hey, you can't have movie night without popcorn.

...yeah he doesn't even give it ten minutes before he casually tries slipping his arm around Tavros. he's a loser and he sucks. ]

[ u n s u r e.

More or less. Tavros starts at the touch and turns a little, leaning away as he does so. It's not a headbutt, it's not a bite, but he's not ready. ]

[ damn. okay, too soon, maybe. he moves his arm back, along the back of the couch and off of Tavros' shoulders, and just leaves it there for the time being, eyes straight ahead at all times. like he doesn't notice, or doesn't care if he does.

no big deal. ]

[ This movie is kind of cute in a humans and their boring non-animated cinema kind of way. Tavros helps himself to popcorn and the wine.

Mmm. Fizzy bubbles.

Maybe he should stop. Because drinking is bad idea when he's upset, he's getting really tipsy. His tolerance kind of sucks. ]

[ and Dave is noticing that's happening, yes. which is partly why he's pretty much stopped drinking altogether—more for Tavros. more wine, less popcorn. he'll work on getting rid of that, even if his appetite is shit and he's eaten more today than he probably has in the past year or something. ]

[ It's not long before there's a high brown flush to his cheeks. There's no popcorn left and he's still got a full glass there and it would be a waste to pour it out and being drunk is kind of a nice feeling. He doesn't have to think about all the things that were bothering him!

His head is just resting against the back of the couch now. ]

[ well golly gee goodness! would you look at that. Tavros is fucking toasted. Dave finally turns toward him and raises an eyebrow, shifting that arm he's still got back there to nudge him a little. ]

Wow, dude, you really went at it with that wine. Think I might have to cut you off.

[ His head lolls lazily to the side, eyebrows raising slightly while a lazy smile spreads across his face. ] Uh... Yeah, I guess.

[ slowly... gently... fluffs at his mohawk a little, shaking his head and reaching for the glass in his hand. easy there, buddy. ]

Haven't seen you look like that in awhile.

[ Leaning into Dave's hand, shutting his eyes and stifling a contented yawn. ]

You haven't been home, to see it.

[ excellent. he's not watching, maybe he won't notice Dave leaning in a little closer. ]

I'm here now, aren't I? Here and gettin' a reminder of how damn cute you can be.

[ His nose scrunches up. ]

Cute is for, wigglers.

[ pokes his nose. with his own nose. ]

Deal with it.

[ There's a chuckle. Tavros tilts his head back and presses a kiss to his nose. ]

It has been both shuffled and dealt.

[ well if that's passable then he figures it's safe to go in for a kiss, albeit maybe one that's lighter and slower than he would've liked. last time he tried mashing their mouths together he got such a nasty bite he nearly needed stitches. then again, things were kind of different then. ]

[ This time, though he freezes at first, some remaining shred of sobriety reminding him that he's mad he shouldn't be letting Dave slip back in after a few small gestures with no real promise of change. His teeth part behind his lips, he's prepared to fall into newfound habits and bite but he stops.

He's lonely. He is. He can't escape it any more. He can't keep throwing up these walls and chasing Dave off. Even if it's temporary, at least he's here. He lifts a hand up to gently grab Dave's face and deepens the kiss, all raw desperation and pleas to be loved. ]
